How Do You Explain Astrology?

I`ve always wondered what is the right thing to say to a person who does not believe in astrology, numerology and any science and belief outside the world of technology and literal existence. 

How do you explain to such a person that astrology is truthful? 

What I`ve discovered for myself, during the years of studying the esoteric world, is that astrology is like every other science. For instance, mathematics is related to numbers and sees the world through this point of view. Biology is related to living organisms and sees the world from the point of view of the living organisms and so on, and so on. For me astrology is the science related to how our personalities and life paths are built. Someone at some point discovered that there is a connection between the events in our lives and the time of our birth. Someone at some point made this discovery and it was used for many centuries in different parts of the world by rulers and ordinary people. It was just lately that the humanity started being critical and mistrustful towards astrology. And this also applies to almost every esoteric knowledge. I don`t see why, really, as astrology is a tool to help people not harm them. There are many people who used their power and position as being part of the Church and did horrible things. But no one forbids Christianity afterwards, right?
